Caffeinated Composers

  • Saengerrunde Hall 1607 San Jacinto Boulevard Austin, TX, 78701 United States (map)

What could possibly be more important than family, love, and even food? For the girl at the center of the story in J.S. Bach's Cantata Schweigt stille, plaudert nicht, the answer is...coffee!

We'll be making a different kind of brew for the closing of Beerthoven's 5th, featuring energizing music with a cafe theme including Bach's "Coffee Cantata,' the jazzy sounds of Paul Schoenfield's trio Cafe Music, and other caffienated works. All told, it will be our most "sobering" Beerthoven yet!

But don't worry--we'll still include the usual free beer, wine, and other refreshments. As always, this will be a family-friendly show.

At the center of the program will be our old friends in invoke, winners of the 2018 Austin Critic's Table Awards for Best Classical Ensemble Performance. The program will also feature Soprano Charissa Memrick, Baritone David Small, Flutist Megan Meisenbach, and pianist Leanna Lam.

Students receive discount tickets at $10 each at the door!

Beerthoven is a Sponsored Project of the Austin Creative Alliance. This program is made possible in part through support from the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin.
