Intern with Beerthoven!

Looking for a fun and enriching way to improve your administrative skills? Look no further—the Beerthoven Concert Series seeks a Volunteer Management intern, starting by September 5th and finishing the first week of December, to assist in managing volunteers for our uniquely approachable, classical chamber music concerts in our upcoming Fall 2019 programming.

Duties for the internship include:

  • Weekly meetings with our Volunteer Management Committee Chair, Kiki Corry, and Beerthoven Founder and Director Daniel Swayze, at a time TBD (preferably Tuesday evenings).

  • Preparation of communications with Beerthoven volunteers

  • Creating strategies for overcoming challenges in running our events using our available volunteer resources

  • Attendance and assistance with our Volunteer Training event on September 5th

  • Attendance and assistance in coordinating with volunteers at our concert events, Friday September 20th at 7:30 pm, Sunday September 22nd at 3:00 pm, Friday November 22nd at 7:30 pm, and Sunday November 24th at 3:00 pm

  • Expected workload is approximately 5-10 hours weekly.

Internship qualifications include:

  • Effective communication skills

  • Confident organizing abilities, including use of spreadsheets

  • 21 and older preferred but not required

The intern will work alongside of Daniel Swayze and our Volunteer Management Committee Chair, Kiki Corry. As Founder and Artistic Director of the Beerthoven Concert Series, Daniel personally managed volunteers for the first three seasons of Beerthoven and currently oversees most of the administrative tasks in the Concert Series. Kiki Corry has over ten years of experience training volunteers and volunteer managers as part of her work with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. She has successfully applied those skills to the management of Beerthoven volunteers for the past two years and has turned Beerthoven into a well-oiled machine.
