Prodigal Sun

  • Saengerrunde Hall 1607 San Jacinto Boulevard Austin, TX, 78701 United States (map)

After a prodigal season away from Beerthoven, Invoke has returned with a feast of great music from their classical/minimalist/bluegrass/folk originals to the world premiere of Ignacio Rosado's work Umbrascopes, inspired by the events of the 1878 total eclipse in the heart of Texas. The program will also include Invoke violist Karl Mitze's work The Wrong Kind of Church.

Thanks to our sponsors, this program features two intermissions flush with warm pretzels generously provided by Easy Tiger, cold beer by Lazarus Brewing, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages--at no additional cost!

Beerthoven events are family-friendly; kids are welcome! Student tickets are available for $10 at the door. To purchase student tickets in advance of the concert, email daniel@beerthoven.com with your request. Children 3 and under may attend at no charge.

This event will take place at the historic Saengerrunde Hall in downtown Austin; home to Austin's oldest cultural institution, the German singing society the Austin Saengerrunde. Experience Beerthoven in the heart of the Live Music Capital of the World!
